Greetings from ALMCO!

Another fantastic quarter is behind us. I’m proud of our team at ALMCO for reaching an impressive 99.6% on-time delivery metric for the last two months, while also shipping record amounts of product at the same time. ALMCO has also had record business for the first half of the year. With all the talk of recession, it is impressive how busy our customers have remained and how resilient the economy has been.

Recently, I was asked how ALMCO has remained so busy with the current economic conditions. I feel that our customers recognize the value of our equipment and expertise and that they can count on ALMCO to provide a solution to their part finishing or part washing needs. We truly stand behind our products and part finishing solutions. Our processing lab allows us to develop the process prior to quoting equipment and supplies, and we guarantee the customer will achieve the same results at their facility that we developed in our processing lab. We value our customers; we treat them right, and we don’t turn away if there is a problem. Much of our business is from existing customers for that very reason. ALMCO is good for their business.

Some of our lab equipment has been sold and new replacements are currently being manufactured. We have decided to add additional equipment for finishing large-diameter parts. We usually have at least one machine in the lab for processing these large parts, but we will soon have three models. We’re adding one Spindle machine and two different Sutton machines. One of those machines is the 1SF-48, which works well to finish slots around the edge of a disk-shaped part by flowing media through the slots as the part rotates. A second machine, the CFT-3000-1, is a very popular machine that can rotate thick, large-diameter parts to deburr jet engine disks, blisks, or large-diameter pump impellers by flowing media through the vanes. The third machine, CFCA-1100-1, is like the CFT-3000-1, but reciprocates the part similar to an old-style clothes washing machine agitator. Again, this is usually for processing jet engine parts that are disk or cylindrical shaped but could be applied to other similarly shaped parts as well.

Steel prices have been slowly falling since May and we are starting to see some cost improvements for manufactured parts from our suppliers. If you have a quote that is a few months old and you are ready to move forward with the project, reach out to your Regional Sales Manager for an updated quote. The price may have gone down!

Finally, ALMCO offers chemically accelerated finishing processes that yield incredible results. Our processes have chemical costs that are often less than half of other suppliers of chemicals for accelerated finishing. Please contact us to find out more.

I wish you and your business well in the months ahead!
